Club Overview

The Greenwin Tennis Club is a year-round tennis facility conveniently located at Yonge & Davisville, just a short walk from the Davisville subway station.  Greenwin features five clay courts (four bubbled in the winter), a licensed members' lounge, changing rooms with shower facilities, and a complimentary towel service.  We also have a licensed court-side patio in the summer.  Greenwin's staff of experienced Tennis Professionals teach clinics for players at all levels and are available for private and semi-private lessons.

Facilities

Five Clay (Har Tru) Courts (four under the bubble in the winter)

Har Tru – more commonly known as clay - is one of the best surfaces to play on in terms of wear and tear on your joints and keeping the ball in play.

Winter Bubble

Early in October four courts are bubbled and heated for the winter season.  At the end of May the bubble is taken down and five courts are available for day and night-time play.

Lesson/Assessment

Each new member receives a ½ hour assessment from one of our Tennis Professionals.  This assessment is based on Tennis Canada's rating system and helps determine your level of skill.  Your Pro will discuss your rating and it will be kept on your file for purposes of clinics, house leagues, and our game arranging service.

Game Arranging Service

Our game arranging service helps new and existing members find playing partners at a similar skill level.  When you book a court, ask reception for a game arrange and they will do their best to find you a partner.  On the flip side, you may be contacted if someone your level is looking for a game. 

Clinics

Clinics are a perfect way to brush up on our game, meet players, and try out different Pros.  They involve a maximum of four members and combine some of the following: stroke development and correction, game situation drills, on-court strategy, footwork and agility drills.  Clinics are offered throughout the week and are targeted to players at various skill levels.

House leagues, Tournaments, and Social Round Robins

Greenwin runs some popular events throughout the year which allow you to test your skills against other members in both a competitive and social environment.  In the fall and winter we run a mixed house leagues for advanced and intermediate players and a day-time men’s and women’s house league.  In addition, we have men’s and women’s singles ladders as well as singles and doubles tournaments three times a year.  Finally, there are various social round robins which allow you to meet other members in a fun and friendly environment.

Competitive Teams

Greenwin has a proud tradition of competitive team play.  Doubles teams play both home and away games throughout the GTA.  There are Ladies’, Men’s, and Mixed Teams which play at different times through the week.  Team practices are an essential part of the Team experience and provide another way to improve your skills and meet players at a similar level.

 

Stinging Service, Racquet Demos & Accessories

Greenwin’s stringing service is provided by The Merchant of Tennis - one of Toronto’s most respected tennis retail establishments.  If you need your racquet strung just leave it with reception and it will be taken care of and delivered back to Greenwin.  We also sell an assortment of accessories including grips, socks and tennis balls.  To find out more about The Merchant of Tennis, please click on the link:  www.merchantoftennis.com

Snack Bar, Outdoor Patio & Lounge

The club provides a snack service, a licensed members' lounge with a fireplace, and a charming court side patio in the summer.  Try one of our many juices, quaff a beer or enjoy a glass of wine while you unwind with your playing partners. 

GoodLife Fitness Clubs Membership

GoodLife recently opened a new location at the northeast corner of Mt. Pleasant and Davisville - a two minute walk from Greenwin.  Any full-time Greenwin Member can join GoodLife for a fee of $450.00 annually and have access to most Good Life Clubs across the GTA and Canada.  Please ask the Greenwin reception staff about how to sign up for this special offer.

Private Functions

With our licensed members lounge and outdoor patio Greenwin is a great place to hold a private function.  We have successfully held company activity days, birthday parties and charity fund-raisers.  We can comfortably handle 50 people and give you the option of having us cater your function or arrange for your own catering.  Naturally, we'd be happy to organize a tennis event for your function.

Adult Instruction

We have four full-time certified Tennis Professionals who are available to work with you to improve your game. Our extensive adult instruction programming includes:

• clinics for players at all levels
• boot camps
• private and semi-private lessons
• team practices
• master classes with Guest Professionals.

Junior Programs

Our junior programs provide the key ingredients for success:

• a team of Tennis Professionals who can work with any level of player
• outstanding after-school and weekend junior recreational classes
• a morning and after-school competitive program for juniors who are committed to training at least twice per week and who participate in OTA tournaments

One of Greenwin's key strengths is its central location just a short walk from the Davisville subway station at Yonge & Davisville.  This provides easy access from many parts of the city including the residential areas surrounding the club.

Hours of Operation

Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Last Court Booking @ 10:00 p.m.
Weekends: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Last Court Booking @ 7:00 p.m.

Court Fees

All court bookings are for one hour of court time starting on the hour and the fee is divided by the number of players on court i.e. 2 people share the fee for singles, 4 people share the fee for doubles.

Guest Fees

We encourage members to introduce their friends, family and colleagues to our Club. Members may bring as many guests as they please, however the same guest may not attend more than once per month. Members are responsible for guests’ conduct and ensuring payment of all applicable fees.
